In April of 2022 Jeremy experienced a seizure. After being taken to the hospital, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He soon thereafter had brain surgery where the tumor was successfully removed. However, tests revealed that the tumor was an aggressive cancer, Astrocytoma Grade 4. However, Jeremy and his family believe deeply this is a part of God’s plan. His body and mind have responded well to the surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. With support from his beautiful wife, Tricia, and family and friends, he looks forward to being around many more years to give his kids (Abby 21, Grace, 18 and Henry 13) a hard time and support them in their endeavors. He will honor God by both giving back to the community and paying things forward. He also hopes to improve his golf game and see the Minnesota Vikings win a Super Bowl (perhaps asking for too many mountains moved?)

On August 17, 2021, Layla experienced her first of many seizures to come over the next 16 months. Layla was diagnosed with a high-grade malignant glioma. The prognosis was “12 to 18 months… but anything is possible.” With an optimistic attitude and sense of humor, Layla battled through radiation, two brain surgeries and multiple trials. Layla did all the things: Senior Year, Dance Coach and Captain of Competition and Performance Teams, friends, family, traveling and went to college. Layla was sunshine. She was fun and she was funny. Layla was good and kind. She was one of the most inclusive human beings on earth. She is our daughter and our sister, and forever we are four. We love and miss her so very, very much.
